My story

Peaches’ Personality Peaches is a pretty buff colored tabby who loves petting and kisses! She is a friendly companion who loves to be your little shadow. Peaches has a very loud purr which she is happy to turn on the moment you pet her. She does like to be right at your feet when you are walking, so watch for her especially when you go to get her food!  Peaches hasn’t played yet with most toys, but she responds to a toy dangled at the end of a fishing pole. As a young, fairly active cat, she will likely be more playful over time as she gets more use to her new environment. And learns to play with toys. Because we don't know her background, its possible she wasn't introduced to toys. Most cats do, however, learn to love playing which mimics hunting activities that are natural to them.  What Type of Home Peaches Needs  Peaches has been in our care just a short period of time. So she is still getting use to her surroundings. Peaches immediately explored her new space without hiding. So she is a pretty confident cat. We are seeking a quieter home with no young children. An older cat-savvy child would probably be ok. When introduced briefly to her foster mom's two cats, she was a bit alarmed. So for now, she needs a forever home with no other cats or dogs. We just don't know if she would adapt to living with other pets.  Where Peaches Came From  This sweet little cat was rescued after a kind person found her in her yard and began feeding her. Whatever her story is, Peaches is amazingly lovable despite her ordeal.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Please see our adoption guidelines at  https://spcanova.org/about-us/adoption-policies/. June 7, 2025, 3:09 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peaches, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
