Read about our adoption process on our website.Miss Girl has proven to be resilient and kindhearted even after all she has been through. She was adopted as an 8-week-old puppy and then found on the streets months later. She was skin and bones, had a broken leg, and tested heartworm positive. Over the last few months, she has been treated for her medical issues and has blossomed into an excitable and happy puppy. Miss Girl has been given a second chance with us and deserves the new home and owner who knows how lucky they are to have her. She is loving, funny, and brave and will make her future family very happy. Miss Girl will always have a special place in her foster's heart, and she cannot wait to be steal someone elses!Name: Miss GirlBreed: Mixed breed, terrier mixAge: ~1 yearWeight: ~30lbSex: Female, spayedColour: BrindleMedical: Treated for heartworms, treated for broken femur, recovered from rickets, and foreign objects in stomach when found Good with men: Yes, but shy and warms up quicklyGood with women: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with kids 0-6: Yes, but has not lived with small children - however, she can be mouthy when she plays. Very playful and outgoing, Loose body language, Jumpy/overly excited, Depends on how the other dog is actingWhat type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? Larger dogs or dogs of the same size. She does well with bigger dogs who can correct her when she comes on a bit dominant during playtime at times but also know how to keep playing with her. She gets tired fairly quick since she likes to play on the rougher side.Good with Cats: Unknown, not testedCrate training: Settles quickly and quietlyHouse training: Working on it - about 50% thereResource Guarding: Food/high value treats - from dogsWalks on a leash: Walks wellEnergy level: Medium-highAreas to work on: Excitability/jumping up on peopleWhat type of environments would NOT be suitable for the dog? None, this dog would be fine in any environmentAny noted separation anxiety?None notedBarker: Average - will bark when someone comes to the door, while playing, etc. What would be the ideal home for this dog?An ideal home for this dog includes a decent sized home that she can run around in since she LOVES to get zoomies and play. She likes to be outdoors in the backyard if someone is with her, so a huge yard isnt a necessity. She does great on the leash and loves exploring so daily walks would suffice. A home with a family who is active and is determined to work on some of her quirks would also be ideal. She could be with or without a dog as long as her new owners are aware that she prefers to eat and drink away from other dogs. I personally think she would love being the center of attention, it is overdue!
