My story

Hi, I'm Ranger! I'm a 2-year-old, 18-lb Shih Tzu - Maltese blend. I'm currently scouting out chicken, belly rubs, more chicken, and a special forever family who will love me forever. General Behavior: Ranger isn't shy and lets his smart, snuggly, playful personality shine through from the moment you meet him! He is such a resilient, loving little soul who is here for a good time, snuggles, and chicken. He is the sweetest little shadow pup and he loves giving hugs and being in close proximity at all times.   Likes & Dislikes: Ranger will do ANYTHING for chicken. He also loves playing with toys, pups and kids. Training: Ranger is a smart cookie! He is housetrained if let out regularly, loves car rides, sleeps in a dog bed at night, walks well on a leash, and generally has good basic manners. He'll even let you know when he has to go outside! Medical:  Ranger has a history of seizures and is on a strict medication schedule to keep him feeling his best. He takes his meds every 12 hours sharp, and as long as he stays on schedule, he’s a happy, comfortable boy. His medication costs approximately $100 per month AND PPR WILL COVER THE COST OF HIS MEDS FOR 3 MONTHS. Since starting his new medicine regimen, he's been seizure-free and our hope is he'll never experience another. Bonus: he takes his medicine like a champ (with the help of a tasty little chicken wrap).  Other Animals: Ranger loves playing with other dogs of all sizes. Children: This loving guy is great with children of all ages. He's not the softest with his kisses and hugs so he should be watched around young children, but he is a firm favorite at neighborhood movie nights at the moment! Home: Ranger would do well in an apartment, condo, or single-family home (as long as it is well-stocked with chicken). Grooming: As a Shih Tzu blend, Ranger will need regular brushing plus professional grooming every few months. Overall: If you adopt Ranger, he'll change your life for the better with his love, resilience, and playful nature. Is Ranger the sidekick you've been looking for? Then please visit our website, www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt.  You’ll be put in contact with his foster family if it’s a potential match. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption donation is $300. ##2300189##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ranger, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
