My story

Lola may mean “sorrows” in Spanish, but this tiny chihuahua is nothing but pure joy in a 7 year old, 5-pound package. After being surrendered by a kind man who was told he had way more dogs than the city permits, she’s being fostered in Toronto and is looking for someone ready to have their heart gently—but permanently—claimed. Lola is a true velcro dog. She doesn’t bark, but she will softly cry at the door when her person leaves, like a little lullaby of longing. Her love is quiet but unwavering. She wants to be near you—pressed against you, curled on top of you, or nestled so deep in your armpit you forget you ever had personal space. She likes to sleep wrapped around her foster’s neck and head like a tiny, furry halo. Even when gently nudged away, she creeps right back to make sure she stayed in contact. This girl doesn’t take no for an answer when it comes to closeness. Her little pink tongue peeks permanently out the front of her mouth thanks to her missing front teeth, and it only adds to her charm. She gets along beautifully with other small dogs. Lola is the kind of companion who insists on being part of every moment, including supervising you while you brush your teeth or use the toilet. Her favourite activities include being carried around under your arm like a tiny queen, receiving endless smooches, and snoozing beside you wherever you are. Lola isn’t really housetrained but sometimes uses pee pads indoors. Despite her name, there’s nothing sorrowful about Lola—except, maybe, the moment you try to put her down. She’s proof that sometimes the smallest dogs have the biggest love to give. If you’re looking for a loyal little soul to follow you through life (and the bathroom), Lola is waiting to turn your ordinary days into something truly special. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt LOLA, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
