My story

PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: Fill out the application and we will follow up with you! We will connect you to his foster! LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Sue B (sueb@homewardtrails.org) ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for this dog: $595 ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 9 lbs ESTIMATED AGE: 2.5 years KNOWN WITH DOGS: Charlies LOVES and THRIVES with other dogs and we will require that he go to a home with another confident, playful dog. KNOWN WITH CATS: Charlie is fine around cats. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Charlie came to us under-socialized and thus would do better with kids older than 10. KNOWN COMMANDS: Charlie is slowly learning to go outside, walk and play like a normal pup after he had grown up very under- socialized. So his commands are in progress. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Charlie will need a home with a yard as he is now learning to leash walk but in a prior home (before he came to HT) he was in an apartment and too scared to go outside. He’s now doing really well on both crate training and housebreaking but he’ll need to continue! KNOWN LIKES: Charlie LOVES to play with other dogs! KNOWN DISLIKES: Loud noises, too much chaos ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Charlie came from a southern state to a person who found that the info she a given about him did not fit. He was terrified and not doing well as an only dog in an apartment…and so he came to HT. He’s now in a home with several other HT dogs and truly loving life. He plays, cuddles, has learned to walk on a leash and is finally able to be a dog. Charlie will need a home with at least one confident/playful dog, a house with a yard so she can continue to feel safe going outdoors to use the bathroom and a home with no children under the age of 10, as too much chaos and loud noises scare him. He’s a GREAT boy who had a rough start at life but is now blossoming and so, so ready for a family to love him forever. HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: Spay/Neuter First 3 distemper series vaccines and de-wormings Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees Current on heartworm preventative Current on flea/tick preventative EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free first exam with: - Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) - Free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting (in DC/Arlington/Alexandria only) - Best Paws Forward Training Program – HT adopters ONLY ***A portion of EVERY ADOOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities ***BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Charlie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
