My story

Rattan is a sweet, friendly guy! He really loves toys and treats. He can be a bit shy at first, but he really just wants some love. He wants to be close to his people! Volunteers say "Rattan and I had a great day together! We started at 7brew and got a pup cup which was immediately inhaled. I would say he enjoyed it! We then went to campus where we walked around the quad. Rattan loved rolling around in the grass and smelling all of the smells around campus. When passing others, he wanted to smell everyone but didn’t have any aggressive behavior towards anyone. He was very interested in squirrels and birds, however and would become very locked onto them if we came across them on our walk. After being on campus, we came back to my apartment to relax and get in the air conditioning. I would say Rattan is the perfect gentle giant. Despite his size, he wants to be a lap dog and wants to be as close to you as possible. He loves resting his head on your lap, licking you, and just simply being close to you. He had no problems in my apartment and adapted very quickly! We enjoyed sitting on my balcony and people/car watching together. Finally, we went on a brief walk downtown! We encountered many people, but again, he just wanted to get a sniff. I genuinely think Rattan would be ideal for most homes. He is energetic and has some puppy tendencies but he’s such a lover boy so I think he’s the perfect mix. A family who is fairly active would be perfect so he can get his energy out but also have that companionship component as well. I’m so happy I got to spend the day with Rattan today and know he would be an amazing addition to any home!"

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rattan, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
