My story

Jordan was found as a stray on the morning of June 5th, near Germantown and Berkley. A good Samaritan brought him to ACCT Philly after noticing his rough skin condition and quiet demeanor. He arrived without a microchip and no known owner, but with a gentle spirit and hopeful eyes. From the moment he arrived, Jordan has shown himself to be a mellow, friendly companion. He’s calm and quiet in his kennel, greeting staff politely at the door. Volunteers describe him as easy to leash, good on walks, and unfazed by the kennel chaos. While he enjoys exploring and sniffing around, he’s always willing to redirect and leans into affection. Jordan allows all-over handling—even in the areas where his skin is most irritated—and he’s happiest when soaking up love from people. In the yard, he sploots and scoots with a goofy charm, and indoors, he’ll quickly settle down, ready to relax by your side. He recently met another dog, Quina, and while he wasn’t interested in play, he was tolerant and composed. Jordan’s skin is being monitored and treated by our vet team, and while he may need a little extra TLC as he heals, he continues to impress everyone with his sweet nature and resilience. He is easy and can be. He wasn't too into my treats but would sit for them. He likes to sniff around. It was super hot and his breathing was labored so we did just a quick hang! But he would approach me when I knelt down and welcomed pets! 06/06/2025 Per volunteer, Behavioral Eval: Saw Jordan walking back in the kennels with another volunteer. The volunteer reported he was easy going and had no issues getting him out of his kennel. I was easily able to add my leash and remove him. Jordan walks well on leash. He can get focused on smells but is redirectable. In the yard, he was mostly focused on sniffing. He allowed me to pet him all over, even in the spots where his skin is in rough shape. He had a medium to high tail with wags the whole time. Jordan seems pretty sensitive to the heat and he was panting a lot. He did not seem interested in treats. He did briefly take possession of stuffed toys but released quickly. Inside he immediately laid down to sploot. A staff member entered the room. He was so happy to see her. He was wiggly and jumping up on her for pets. Jordan had a good dog meet with Quoina. He was a bit stiff and uninterested but tolerant of her playful antics. No issues returning to kennel. Green Per staff 6/5: Jordan was easy to leash and walk through the kennel. Was more interested in sniffing toys, but did solicit attention and allowed all handling. Was able to get his hind leg going when the adopter scratched one of his dry spots. Sniffed toys but did not eat. No issues walking back through kennels, happily jumped in. A couple of times seemed to want to play bow but stopped, also stumbled a little coming out of the kennel and very occasional limping so put in a vet check. 06/05/2025 per staff: In kennel, Jordan appears calm and friendly. Approached kennel door and greeted me quietly.
