Yes, with children around 8 years old, on a kid-by-kid basis.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Apollo is a curious and adventurous dog who enjoys exploring his surroundings more than interacting with people. Inside, he was easier to engage, but he still preferred to explore. He is a strong puller on the lead, so you’ll need to keep up with his eagerness to seek out new experiences.While Apollo tolerated being handled, he quickly grew bored and indicated he wanted to move on with signs like yawning. He showed no resource guarding, allowing handling while eating and tolerating toys being taken away. He enjoyed playing with toys but his favorite was the stuffed toy. When invited he played with the handler and liked to run around, showing manageable behaviors along with good bit inhibition.Apollo has a basic understanding of commands like `sit,` `come,` and `paw,` but he responds selectively.
