My story

Put Short Bio here:Fill out all below:Personality & Characteristics: The most snuggly and friendly pup who will make you laugh daily! As soon as you sit down, he will come lay on your lap and look lovingly into your eyes. He loves to lean on people and sit on their feet. He's very smart and super easy to train. Actually the easiest dog to train ever! He has learned so many commands in just a couple of days. Nearly everyone he meets comments on how he's the perfect size. A quirk of his is that he seems to get a fright sometimes when he's asleep and feels you move, so I would recommend having him sleep on his bed as opposed to the couch, at least until he feels comfortable in your home. In addition to his short walks around the block, we take him on a couple laps around the park once a day, and this seems to be enough to tire him out. He responds well to the command "crate," but he'll only go in if he gets a reward. He has no problems sleeping in there by himself, but he doesn't like being left at home alone, so we're still practicing leaving and coming back everyday. However, the most he does is whine when we leave and then settles himself, and he's always very calm when we come back. Having met a lot of our friends, he seems to match people's energy - if you're playful or anxious, then he'll want to play, but if you're calm, then he'll likely just roll over and ask for belly scratches. Ion would do best with someone who can give him lots of cuddles and can reinforce his training (he just needs reminders while he's adjusting to a new home). You can find more Ion content at his instagram @adopt.ion.nycMy foster dog is good with: (Dogs, Kids, Cats) LOVES kids and always wants to say hi to them, but we don't know how he is when living with them. Unsure about cats. Hit or miss with dogs - he's lived with 4 other dogs with zero issues, but then another time with 3 dogs, and he was aggressive at times with 2 of them. He isn't reactive to dogs when on his walks, but if we stop and say hi for a while or if we're in a room with another dog, he may growl at them.  My foster dog is: (Crate trained, House trained, Low shed) Crate trained and house trained. Low shed in cooler temps and medium shed in warmer months. 3 Keywords for your pup: Goofy, cuddly, smart.Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): With us, in our apartment, he's usually a 3-4 - he sleeps most of the day and will want to play tug for like 15 mins a day. However, in his previous home, where he had a huge field to run around, they said he was more excitable. Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Quiet. Might just bark at you if he's hungry.Walking Manners: On streets he's familiar with, he's really good. But on new streets or at the park, he'll pull more and needs to be reminded of his training (i.e. make some quick tight turns to get him to pay attention to you).Appetite: Food motivated, but won't scavenge for food. Does the following: (Gets car sick, nervous outside, has separation anxiety, hates the bath, none of the above) He can get scared by really loud sounds or become over stimulated in new and loud environments.Favorite Things: Snuggles, people, and sunbathingCommands/Tricks: Sit, stay, lay, come, look at me, bed, crate, spin, leave it, paw, and follow (he'll wait for you to go through the door first) ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2368098##
