My story

** Penny is currently in a foster home, and she is available for adoption. Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **This sweet mama has spent the last few weeks raising her two adorable pups, Nickel and Dime—and she’s been a total gem. Patient, gentle, and full of heart, Penny has done an incredible job. But once her pups are weaned in a couple of weeks, she’s ready to retire from motherhood and finally get the rest (and love!) she deserves.Penny is a small-to-medium mixed breed dog with soulful eyes and a quiet strength. She’s currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, so her next chapter will involve a little medical care and a lot of cozy naps. What she wants more than anything is a soft place to land, where she can trade diaper duty for snuggles and solo walks.After putting all her love into her little family, it’s Penny’s turn to be doted on. She’s ready for a life of comfort, companionship, and calm—and she’ll make a wonderful addition to a home that’s looking for a gentle, grateful pup.
