My story

Hi, I'm Oakley! I'm a shy girl who's still learning to feel safe in a big, sometimes overwhelming world. I was surrendered because I wasn't getting along with the other dog in my previous home, but with time, patience, and the right match, I might be able to live with a calm, respectful dog in the future. I really am confused why I'm here, and I for sure show it in my kennel. I shake, I hide in the corner, I may even growl. I promise I am not mean - I am just terrified! Can you blame me though? Going from a home to this place is scary! The unknown, the loud noises, all the new faces - it's a lot! I may not run up to you right away, but once I trust you, I'll be the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for! I bond deeply with my people - I just need someone who'll let me go at my own pace. I'd do best in a calm home, and I'd be okay with respectful, dog-savvy kids who understand I need gentle interactions and space when I'm feeling nervous. If you're someone with a soft voice, a patient heart, and room in your life for a sweet soul who just wants to feel safe and loved, I'd love to meet you. I'm not the kind of dog who rushes into things-but I'm the kind who stays by your side once I know I belong! I hope to meet you soon! Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 60.9 Age: 3yrs 0mths 2wks
