My story

Elaine is a fabulous 1-year-old lap cat who lives for snuggles and attention! If you’re looking for a loyal shadow with a lot to say, she’s your girl. This affectionate chatterbox loves to narrate her day—from spying on backyard birds to proudly patrolling the hallway with her favorite catnip mouse. Elaine doesn’t just sit with you—she becomes part of you, nestling into your lap or chest like it’s her life’s mission.Elaine thrives on human affection and would do best in a home ready to shower her with love. After a proper introduction, she's likely to do well with respectful cats or dogs, especially if they don’t mind her being the star of the show. When she gets excited by pets and affection, she can get a little overstimulated, so a patient adopter who understands cat body language will help her feel safe and understood.Elaine is sweet, sociable, a little quirky, and full of heart. Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed. About Ten Lives:Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
