Liza is a 3-year-old, 25-pound Dachshund / Beagle mix with a heart as big as her fluffy tail. Rescued from the streets of Arkansas, this gentle girl has quickly settled into the comforts of her foster home and is now ready to find a forever family of her own. Liza is the perfect mix of cuddly and playful. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is even polite and friendly with cats. She’s incredibly sweet! Liza is also a great fit for a home with kids (aged 7+) as she was very friendly and gentle with her Arkansas foster's kids. From Liza's foster mom: * * * * "Liza is the sweetest pup! I have 6 dogs and she has been great with all of them. She was a little shy on the day she arrived, but warmed up really fast. She plays and lounges with my dogs. She met our cat and had no reaction to her, and same with our pot belly pig! Most foster dogs are scared of the pig but Liza is great with him. She's just an all around super friendly girl. Liza is fully potty trained, and gets excited when you ask her "gotta go out?!?". She does well in a crate when I leave the home, although I think she would be totally fine to be let free roam - I just don't leave foster dogs unattended with my dogs. She has not showed ANY signs of any separation anxiety and I'd bet she would just nap when you left her if she was left out. I have not heard her bark once! She is quiet and mellow. Though the more she comes out of her shell, the more she has started to play with my dogs! She sleeps in bed with us and all of our dogs and does great. Sleeps through the night, but does like to sleep on my pillow... I added a pillow beside my pillow for her to sleep on and it's her favorite sleeping spot. Liza has 0 issues - I'm not just talking her up - she is literally perfect! Good with dogs, cats, kids, in a crate, out of a crate, in the car, overnight, and even eats her food next to my dogs with no issue. She will make someone really happy, as she is just a really, really good dog!!" * * * * Liza has a calm, loving spirit and thrives in a home where she can snuggle up with her humans, play with furry friends, and soak in all the love. If you’re looking for a devoted little dog with a heart full of love, Liza just might be your perfect match. Liza is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. With positive reinforcement training, she has all the potential in the world to be a loyal, well-mannered adult companion. She’ll thrive with virtual or in-person force-free training classes, which will help strengthen her bond with her humans and build her confidence. Liza is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog.
