My story

Meet Hawthorn! Hawthorn is a seven week old Akita mix! He and his siblings are looking for a forever home. He is so playful and loves cuddles. He is very playful with the older dogs and really loves to be involved in whatever you or the other dogs are up to. He has not been around cats because his foster home does not have any cats, but we think that he would do well with them with an introduction. He is working on potty training, of course he has quite a bit more to go since he is only seven weeks old. Hawthorn is much more stubborn than his siblings. He does not like to be woken up when he’s sleeping and definitely pushes back with his training and boundaries. He will need an experienced owner to help mold him and work hard on his continued training. Akitas can be a difficult breed and he is showing some behavior that would not do well with a less experienced owner or with kids. Hawthorn is not ready to go home with a new family for a couple more weeks, but we are starting to take applications on him in order to schedule an adoption for June 7th.
