My story

Iris is a two year old French Bulldog who tends to jump before thinking! She is a go go go kind of girl who has a lot of energy to spare and absolutely no regards to any amount of forethought. She is the bull in the china shop. We love her, but wow… does she sleep? Yes she does (with all of the cacophony of bulldog snoring) but then is is right up again. Iris needs a family who is prepared for an active and rather bowling ball type dog. She only weighs 28 pounds but she will use all of that to pull and jump right ahead. For this reason, we think that she would do best without little kids in the house- she will quite literally run right over them. She also prefers to get her way and while she loves playing with dogs, she does take it too far and she prefers to be the boss. This ends up, meaning that when she gets too excited, play doesn’t become play anymore. This is very common for her breed and type. While with a lot of training, she may be able to get past this, but at this time to prevent a fight from happening, we will only be adopting her out where she will be the only dog in the family. It would be a disservice to her and to a future family to adopt her out in a situation where she would not thrive. Iris needed a pretty serious revision to her spay incision when she first came to us (and that additional surgical need is the reason why she is with us). So her adoption fee is covering some of the emergency surgery that she had. We know that we can find the right home for Iris even if it takes a little bit longer. If you are interested in adopting Junior, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY-A-61959 **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Iris, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
