Swiffer

My story

Handsome Swiffer is about 4 years old and after living life on the lam for a while, he's ready to settle back down and find a new home with the proper human training to understand what a pyr needs in this life. If a pyr is left to his/her own devices, they are more likely to disa-pyr than stay put. And that's exactly how Swiffer has found himself looking for a new home. He wandered, his owners would go get him but not make the necessary changes he needed to stay put. Then he would disa-pyr again and the cycle repeated. His last foray on his own led him to hanging inside the Dollar General and Wal Mart. While the store staff loved him, they knew that he would never find his people if he stayed in the store, so sadly they called animal control. Once at animal control, he acted as a model citizen until our rescue was able to find a spot for him. Pyrs aren't for everybody, but it you're an experienced Pyr person, Swiffer is PERFECT for you!! He has all of the Pyr attributes that make them so unique, special and fun/funny. He will lisiten to your directive, but he'll decide if it's truly the best directive for the moment. Pyrs were bred to be independent thinkers should be admired for sticking to their breed. Although he is an independent guy, he has impeccable house manners. He's perfectly content to lay on the couch or his dog bed and watch some riveting or reality TV. He's not super picky about what to watch so there will be none of that "What do you want to watch?" mess going on with this big goof/ful ball. Swiffer gets along with other dogs and is mellow mushroom nice with all the kind people that he meets. If your home is right for a pyr, he will be the most loyal, sweetest, lovable, unique companion ever!! Swiffer is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
