My story

Meet Elijah Woof, a 6-year-old Chihuahua mix. Weighing just 8 Ibs, Elijah is small but very sweet and kind, with a quiet charm. Elijah is shy at first but affectionate once he warms up and enjoys sitting on laps. He also gets along well with other dogs. Elijah was an owner surrender from Bakersfield because his owner was moving and couldn't keep him. He does best in calm, patient homes where he feels safe and loved. With time, care, and the right family, Elijah has so much love to give and will become a loyal, devoted companion. If you believe in second chances and quiet connections, Elijah Woof might just be the companion you’ve been waiting for. Be ready to adopt. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please fill out our online application and our adoption counselor will reach out to you to discuss meeting your new family member. Please be aware if we have already approved another party for the dog you are interested in, you may not get a call from us.
