My story

*** Moana & Tiana are at Cat & Craft in Vista. ***Moana #19788: black/orange/white calico, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 4/16/24Tiana #19789: black & white tuxedo, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 4/16/24 Cats: **BONDED PAIR**Dogs: unknownChildren: gentle kids okayBACKGROUND: Moana and Tiana were adopted as kittens from an El Centro shelter; a year later, they were brought back for no stated reason. The father had made his young daughter come with him for the shelter surrender, and she was distraught: sobbing and begging him not to give her beloved kitties away. The shelter director described it as the most emotional, intense, and heartbreaking surrender she had seen in 18 years working there. PERSONALITY: These gossipy sisters are people-oriented and very affectionate! They love to play with wand toys and chase after them. Both will “talk” at you as you approach and they want lots of petting and attention (and they certainly will never turn down a treat). Moana rolls over for belly rubs and is so chatty that she can carry on a complete conversation by herself (she always gets the last word). The girls are so friendly and personable. They moonlight as door stops, often lying down right in front of a door… maybe the air flow through the gap feels good? Doors become annoying when they know their people are on the other side, though, because you’re supposed to be petting the kitties!---Moana and Tiana MUST be adopted together.COMPATIBILITY: The girls love each other and operate as a team; they are fine with other cats who respect personal space, though they can sometimes get jealous when others are getting the attention they want for themselves. We don’t know their thoughts on dogs. They are good with gentle children.Moana and Tiana were dearly loved by their young guardian, and though we are usually focused on picking up the pieces of animals in need, we wish we could also help that little girl. What we can do is make sure her kitties find a home where they will be cared for and adored as true members of the family for the rest of their lives. Will you adopt two wonderful feline sisters and in so doing fulfill the wish of all three young ladies?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Moana, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
