My story

Dog Name: Peanut Breed: Mix Sex: Male Age: 1 Weight: 49lbs, but needs to lose some weight Medical Needs: Peanut is deaf and almost completely vision-impaired. He seems to be able to perceive shadows and light from a close-enough range, but otherwise relies entirely on his nose. Housebroken: Yes, he does great on a schedule Crate trained: Yes, he rarely makes a sound unless he has to potty Good in the car: Yes Good on a leash: Work in progress; he loves making friends, but he's learning! Energy level: Medium. He loves to run and roam, both inside and out Need a fenced in yard: No Dog Friendly: Yes, but the other dog MUST be accepting of Peanut's impairments. He was previously in a home with a dog that was not, and bears the scars of it across his body. So long as they are friendly and playful, Peanut will have a great time. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home? No, he'd be perfectly happy with just people to love Cat Friendly? Yes! Kid Friendly: Yes! If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? He's lived with kids age 5 and up; old enough to understand and respect his impairments Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Peanut is the happiest little sunshine child who fully believes the world is his oyster. Being unable to see or hear does absolutely nothing to slow him down, especially once he learns the layout of the home. He loves being inside with people just as much as he delights in roaming the yard, and if you're outside with him, he'll circle back to check in periodically, but otherwise he's content to wander and sniff everything in his path. Every time his fosters reach out to pet Peanut, he becomes an enthusiastic wiggle worm, that's how much he LOVES people. If no pets are forthcoming, he's just as happy to sprawl at their feet and rest. No matter what, he's just thrilled to be included - wherever you go, Peanut will follow, forever your loyal and loving little buddy. Foster’s Location: Frederica, DE Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app) ##2054327##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peanut, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
