My story

Meet Lemon — Our Longest Resident Still Waiting for Her Forever Home Lemon came into rescue on October 28, 2024. Just a few weeks later, on November 14, she gave birth to five beautiful puppies. After being a devoted and nurturing mama, Lemon watched each of her pups go off to loving homes. Now, it’s finally her turn to be the center of someone’s world. From the start, Lemon has been naturally reserved around people, always more comfortable in the company of other dogs. To support her continued growth, we recently moved her to a new foster home—and the change has made a big difference. Since the transition, Lemon has started to come out of her shell. She’s building confidence, learned to walk on a leash and is beginning to seek out human affection—on her own terms. These days, she’ll even curl up for a cozy cuddle on the couch when another dog is present! Lemon is looking for a dedicated adopter who can offer her a consistent environment with the patience and structure she needs to continue her progress. A regular routine and ongoing management while she’s outside will be important as she adjusts. Most importantly, Lemon must have another confident dog in the home. She absolutely thrives in the presence of other dogs—of any age or size. They are essential to her sense of security. Lemon’s ready for her next chapter—and she truly deserves it.
