My story

Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Charles Bronson, a 4yo, 12 1/2lb. possible dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix. This medium-energy boy is full of life and loves his people. He bonds quickly and follows you everywhere. He has a sleek, shiny coat. He is a smart guy that is house trained, rides well in a car, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is currently in a foster home with several other dogs, both smaller and larger than him, and with senior dogs. But he would also be fine as an only dog. He wants to have the upper hand with the resident cat, but is actually scared of her when she confronts him. As long as a cat is an indoor cat, and doesn't run from him, he will be fine. He loves, loves his walks, and walks proudly with tail up, so daily walks are a must. He gets so excited when he sees the harness or hears the word "walk."  He is not reactive to other dogs or people on the walk, and is not a big barker. He does howl when his people leave the home, but that is short-lived. Charles shakes during a thunder storm and wants to be near his person, so he would do best with someone who is home more often than not. A fenced yard is preferred so he can do his zoomies. Charles is a lap dog and a huge snuggle bug, cuddling up right next to his person all night long, often under the covers. He hasn’t been interested in toys yet, but has chased a tennis ball a few times. Charles does have one quirk in that he’s a growly boy, which may scare young kids. And although he is good with kids, a home with no young kids is best. We think that he may have been teased in his former home. But although he growls and only at certain times when he is being handled, he has not offered to bite. But even if he continues his growly ways, he is still a loving, fun and friendly boy, and maybe just a quirky little dude with that JRT attitude. JRT experience would be a plus. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Charles Bronson, please complete an app and tell us more about your family.  June 28, 2025, 11:32 am
