My story

Donna is a beautiful silver/gray tabby, with the most gorgeous emerald green eyes you've ever seen. She is about 5+ years old. She was living a sad life in a fenced kennel with no frills. The person who had her passed away and we rescued her from a life of confinement and brought her into a loving foster home. She had been kenneled together with another cat Marie and both cats were lacking any current social skills. It was apparent that once upon a time they had been social and probably house cats. Perhaps they got lost from their original homes and ended up in this person's care who kenneled them long term where they were well fed, but that was about it. They were somewhat neglected socially and over time, lost their confidence and became timid of people. They went through the rescue process together and relied on each other for comfort and companionship. We assumed they were a bonded pair and have them posted as such. However, upon time spent in foster, their foster mom has observed that Donna might prefer to be an only pet and have all the attention for herself. Thanks to her foster's dedicated work, Donna went from hiding under a blanket all the time - to rolling and basking in attention. She loves to be pet and brushed, and looks forward to that bonding time with someone who can make her feel important and make up for lost time. Her energy level is low - medium. She would probably be perfectly happy as a couch potato with moderate playtime for exercise and engagement. If you are someone who wants a sweet, chill, companion who likes to lounge, then Donna may be the one for you. She is shy at first and will need someone who can help her settle in, but once she warms up she can't get enough of the one on one. This beautiful gal has waited a long time to have the love and home she deserves. She will do best in a calm, quiet environment where she can lounge to her heart's content, watch out the windows, and feel special to someone who loves her.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Donna, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
