My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs on the Best Friend Pet Adoption website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs.  The link to our application is. : https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC         Say hi to Elby! This extremely sweet girl has never met a stranger- she absolutely adores people and thinks other dogs are a TON of fun. We call her Wiggle Butt because that's what happens when she sees a person. While she loves just about every dog she meets, her play style can be hype so a dog who enjoys that will be her best match.    Elby has moderate-high energy. She loves her backyard but would also be okay without one as long as you make time to walk her daily. She walks well on a leash. She has done some agility and scent work and loves to learn. While she's excited to see people out and about she also is getting good at settling in public places and enjoys a trip to Petsmart or the local brewery. She also rides very well in the car and would make an excellent adventure buddy! Once she's had her exercise, a nap on the couch is her next favorite thing.    Elby is house and crate trained and stays loose in "her" room while her foster is out. Due to her excitement and energy Elby is not a great fit for kiddos under the age of 12. She is not suited for a home with cats. She has worked hard in training and knows a lot including sit, down, touch, wait, and spin. Her foster is a dog trainer and anyone who adopts Elby will be given 3 free "transition" sessions to learn her cues and help her settle in!   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ELBY? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 23, 2025, 10:34 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elby, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
