My story

HARLEY NEEDS A FOSTER AND PERMANENT HOME ASAP! RESCUE FULL. ALL SUPPLIES PROVIDED: VERY HEALTHY! EASY to KEEP! SO smart and Sweet, the best cat! HARLEY , beautiful, SO sweet, gentle,  has had a rough time!  He is a stunning large  Maine Coon/American Long Hair mix (?) weighing over 18 pounds and loves to be petted! He is a majestic boy with a heart as big as his paws. His life started in Lilburn as a small stray kitten found in the middle of the road, and he was lucky to find a loving home in Lawrenceville with a devoted husband and wife who adored him. He was there his whole life in the same home!! He lived with two other cats and they all got along well. Sadly, recently Harley’s world turned upside down when both of his beloved humans passed  — the wife first last year, followed by the husband just four months ago. After their passing, Harley was left in the care of a house roommate who rented from the husband (a mean substance abuser) who, tragically confined him to a single room for three long months. Isolated and grieving, Harley was traumatized. His majestic long hair is matted to the skin and he gained weight!  Thankfully, we were able to bring Harley into our rescue. He is coming out of his shell QUICKLY and adjusting WELL with great progress in last few days, but he would like a quieter place with a devoted person(s). He is updated on his vet work this week, and will address his matted hair! OMG! His hair is matted to his skin in big clumps. We will get his teeth cleaned too! He is incredibly sweet — truly a doll — and with a calm, patient nature, we know he’ll quickly blossom back into the confident, affectionate companion he once was.  Very good in litterbox. Harley has been updated on vet work, including: Comprehensive wellness exam  Updated vaccinations (was only two months out of date! GOOD!) Blood work to ensure his health Grooming to remove the huge mats.  We are searching for a quiet, loving FOSTER OR PERM home . Ideally, his new family will have experience with cats, and patience and compassion. He lived with cats, but not dogs. WE are looking for a quiet home without dogs, (he could be fine) and another calm cat, or no pets, and definitely a human that is around to pet him!
