My story

***Thanks to a donation from the Andy and Connie Ziemelis Charitable Fund, select cats are having their adoption fees sponsored by the Home Sweet Home Program – including Nico's! Nico is a 6 year old neutered male. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative! Meet Nico! Nico initially came into the shelter as a very shy and nervous guy but after spending some time in a loving foster home he has shown us with just a little patience and understanding he is truly a sweet guy! He now adores lots of pets, spending time with his favorite people, and even belly rubs all of which he shows appreciation for by making lots of biscuits! Although he may need some time to adjust in a new home, once he does he can be a curious and active guy who likes to go exploring to check out his surroundings and find fun new things to get into. Once he tires out though, he would rather spend his time right by your side getting lots of pets and snuggles. In Nico’s foster home, he did get to meet some other kitties who he did take some time to warm up to but with slow and proper introductions he shouldn’t mind having another feline friend in his new home. He wasn’t a fan of the larger breed dogs in his foster home but has lived with smaller dogs in the past so he may do ok with small, calmer dogs in his new home too. Since he may still startle on occasion, he would do best with calmer kids at least 5 years of age or older. If you are interested in adopting, start by filling out an application on our website and email it to frontdesk@couleehumane.com OR you can print and drop off in person: https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal?rq=application

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nico, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
