My story

Meet Norm – Your New Best Friend!Norm is a 7-year-old, 70-pound hound with a heart as big as his goofy grin. He was living the good life in a loving home, but when his owner fell ill, Norm was returned to Second Chance with a heavy heart. Now, this gentle giant is looking for his next forever family.Like any true hound, Norm is a talker—he’s not shy about letting you know when he misses you! He thrives on companionship and wants nothing more than to be close to his people. Whether he’s leaning into you for affection or flopping down nearby with a dramatic sigh, Norm is always wearing his heart on his sleeve.Don’t let his size fool you—this big guy is all goofball. He brings joy, warmth, and a whole lot of personality to every room he enters. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you loudly and unconditionally, Norm might just be your perfect match.Norm’s ideal home? One with a fenced yard where he can safely explore and stretch those long legs. Apartment life isn’t a great fit for him—his big hound voice doesn’t exactly make him a quiet neighbor! He’d also be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the day; a family with a work-from-home setup would be perfect for this affectionate boy who loves to be near his people.Ready to let Norm love you BIG? Come meet him and see if your couch (and heart) have room for one more!***Please Note: All the available dogs listed on our website are getting spoiled in private foster homes. If someone has caught your eye and you wish to arrange a meet and greet, we do need you to fill out the adoption application. When your adoption application is received our screening team will verify the information given. Once your application has been confirmed and approved, we will be send it over to the foster parent for review to determine if your home is a good match for the dog. In the event one lucky dog receives multiple applications, please know we do not select based on a first come basis. We try our best to select the best-fit for our animals and families. ***

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Norm, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
