Whenever you look at her, Gertie sports her cute, funny, happy, smiling face, combined with her wriggly tail that cannot stop wagging! If you smile at her, she will just wriggle more as she makes her way for some kisses. How cute is that?! She has medium energy, walks well on leash, and is crate trained. Eager to learn, she loves to please her humans and hear that she’s a Good Girl! A 4-foot fence would suit her just fine, as she prefers to spend her time inside, but when out, she has no desire to escape, wanting to be with her humans. She’s friends with the resident Pyr, and did excellent with her cat test! Some of her favorite things include being brushed, going on car rides, and getting great big people hugs! This lovely girl has pyrfect house manners, and is quite the princess when out and about. In fact, we might go so far as to say Miss Gertie is as close to flawless as she can be! This delightful girl is hoping for a furever home where her people will spend quality time with her, either chilling with a book or a movie, or go on exploration adventures together. If you decide to open your heart to Gertie, we are pawsitive this sweet girl will light up your entire world! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. June 4, 2025, 12:50 pm
