It makes cosmic sense that our boy Trinidad may belong to a breed that originated with a group of small white pups who swam ashore in Madagascar following a shipwreck. Is he a genuine Coton de Tuléar? Hard to say, but he’s certainly a valiant survivor of adversity, happy to be in a safe place wearing the patchy beginnings of a new, white cottony coat. Handsome, gracious and a friend to other dogs and people, Trini is fond of gentle scritches (especially behind the ears) and short walks. He is looking to begin life anew with tender admirers, catching up on all the love and affection he richly deserves. Here's some notes from his foster: Trinidad is a mellow guy. He enjoys leisurely walks; we take a couple walks around the block every day. He has been calm around other dogs, kids, and bicycles. Inside, he naps and likes looking out the window. Recently his playful side came out when he got the post-bath zoomies. Trinidad doesn't demand attention but welcomes gentle pets and kind words. Trinidad needed a night to acclimate but since then has slept (and snored) through the night. He does his business every time I take him out. He can handle a couple of stairs, but not whole flights. He will need ramps if allowed on the furniture. I've left him home for half a day; he was quiet and napped. I've had no trouble giving him medication as long as it's sufficiently wrapped in a treat. He would be a good fit for someone with a fairly calm lifestyle who's looking for an easy-going companion.
