My story

MEET BENTLEY: Age: 7 years young  Weight: 9 lbs  Breed: Shih Tzu   Meet Bentley, a gentle soul in search of a loving forever home! This sweet 7-year-old Shih Tzu came to us after his previous owner could no longer care for him. Upon arrival, Bentley was quite matted and overgrown, but with a fresh shave, he’s ready to start anew, and we can’t wait to see him in all his handsome glory as his fur grows back.  Bentley is a quiet fella who thrives in a calm environment. He’s looking for a peaceful home, preferably one without young children (older kids are fine) to suit his laid-back personality. He gets along well with other dogs and has no issues with cats, making him a wonderful companion for multi-pet households. This adorable pup has demonstrated good house manners, especially with a consistent routine. Bentley has a velcro-like quality—he loves to be near his people and will happily follow you around as you go about your day. He also prefers snuggling in your lap when and relaxing with you. In addition, he rides well in the car, so you can take him along for drives and adventures. Bentley enjoys spending time outdoors, especially in nice weather. Once he bonds with you and you become his person, he will never leave your side, making him a great dog for leash walks or a physical fenced yard. He knows the command "sit" and is quite food motivated, which will make training a delightful experience. While Bentley can be a little shy at first, he quickly warms up to those who show him love and patience. He is affectionate and will make a loyal companion to someone looking for a new best friend!
