My story

Rescued from the streets in the dead of winter, Agouti has proven she`s as tough as they come—but beneath that survivor spirit is a deeply affectionate, curious, and playful kitty. Given her comfort around people and home life, it’s likely she once had a family before ending up on her own. Now, she’s ready to find her forever home.Cuddly and social, she loves being near her humans. She enjoys curling up by your side, burrowing into your armpit for a nap, and giving lots of kisses. She’s unfazed by new people and large groups, and gets along well with other animals and kids (she`s currently in a foster home with another cat and a small dog, and is fine around both). While she enjoys being with others, she also has an independent streak and will go off for some solo time when the mood strikes. She uses her litter box well (though every once in a while she forgets to bury her #2s!), tolerates being picked up, and is generally sweet and well-mannered—but in true cat fashion, she has a mercurial streak and occasionally throws a quick swat or lightly nips with little warning. She’s a big fan of wand toys and has even shown promise with fetch—especially when treats are involved (she’s very food-motivated). She loves to explore her surroundings inside, and has been taken out for a few walks in a pet backpack, which she tolerates and may grow to enjoy.Agouti is a friendly, curious, and playful kitty with a wee bit of spice. She has a beautiful agouti coat and one of her eyes has an interesting pigment pattern around its edge. Everyone who meets her falls in love - maybe you will too! Agouti is negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Like all ACR cats, she is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Agouti, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
