My story

Meet Skittles, our 2 year old Pit Bull Mix!Skittles is officially a volunteer favorite! This cinnamon-colored mid-sized cutie has been working his quiet magic on everyone. He’s slowly coming around to showing more of his personality and everyone is loving it! Skittles arrived at the shelter in May after being abandoned at a vet’s office. He was left behind. His whole life pulled from underneath him in a flash. Not sure what to do – he treaded lightly - but with a smile. He’s made many new friends since then and is racking up more each day. Skittles is a mellow, unassuming 2-yr. old with drowsy puppy dog eyes that emit an undeniable warmth.He is good on leash, knows paw, sit and politely accepts tasty tokens of appreciation. He enjoys calm affection and will gladly take the opportunity to chase & chomp on toys. Adorable Skittles is looking for someone who will give him time to slowly adjust to his surroundings. He would be happy with an active, understanding person who can commit to settling him into a routine and assuring him he will never be deserted again. If Skittles sounds like the treasure at the end of the rainbow you’ve been seeking and you would like to make him part of your forever family, please come meet himSkittles is neutered, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. His adoption fee is $500.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC. Skittles will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of his adoption.If you`d like to meet him please visit, we`re conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus.
