My story

WillieAs the kind lady was driving my associate Randy and me to the HSHC, she told us that she thought we had been dumped by our owner. I wish I knew what this meant, but I was grateful to be rescued from the streets of Sheridan. I am 7-years-old, with some physical challenges. The medical staff examined me and learned that the reason my hind right leg was so swollen was that I had an old fracture that had healed abnormally. I also had an old injury to my left eye, but it does not need to be removed at this time. In addition to medicine for pain, I was finally neutered. Now, I don`t know if it`s because I am not used to being in a two-room apartment or I`m afraid I`ll be given a shot or medicine, but I have felt a bit crotchety whenever anyone comes too close to me. When I first arrived, I was so happy to be cared for that I was in a good mood. But the longer I`m here, the more moody I become. I`m convinced that once I am adopted and can live in a real home, my spirits will soar! I realize that I may look a little worse for wear, but you would, too, if you had been homeless most of your life. I do have a ruggedly handsome appearance. I`d even say an eye patch would look dashing on me. The interviewer lady (IL) has stopped by for some conversation a couple of times, and I`ve been happy to sniff her fingers and allow her to show me some affection. Still, if I appear to be overstimulated (my ears are out to the side, my tail whips around, or my one pupil gets enormous), then that is my way of telling you I need some space. I promise to be as happy as pigs in dirt if I can find a permanent home with a friendly person(s). Give me a look-see! 5-30-25
