My story

🌸 Meet Petunia! Sweet. Playful. Loyal. Petunia is the full package—and she’s ready to find her forever family! 🐾 Personality Petunia is an absolute sweetheart who loves snuggles just as much as she loves playtime. She’ll happily curl up in your lap for belly rubs and affection, and she’s always up for a game of tug or fetch (though she might make you chase the toy back sometimes 😉). She’s smart, eager to please, and already learning basic manners like a pro. 🌟 Endearing Quirks Petunia has the cutest smile when she’s soaking up attention and getting her “lovies,” and she does the most adorable little bounce when she runs after her toys. She also loves wading into shallow water to cool off—it’s her personal spa time! 🏡 Ideal Home Petunia would do great in a variety of homes—she’s adaptable and affectionate, and just wants to be where the love is. She’s been wonderful with the two dogs and young child in her foster home. A fenced yard and an active household would be a plus, but most important is a family who will give her the time, attention, and affection she deserves. 🎓 Training & Skills • House- and crate-trained • Learning commands like “sit” and “off” (she gets a little jumpy when excited) • Leash training in progress—she’s doing well and doesn’t pull much • Quiet—rarely barks, even when other dogs do • Will fetch toys and often bring them back! 🚩 Special Considerations • Prey drive: Petunia cannot go to a home with cats, chickens, or ducks, as she will chase them • Has a fondness for shredding paper if it’s within reach while unattended • Heartworm positive – she has already started treatment under veterinary care • Up to date on all vaccines and preventatives • Will be spayed before adoption 💖 Petunia’s Perfect Day Running around with her people, splashing in a pond, playing with toys, and then winding down with snuggles on the couch. She’s happiest when she’s included and loved. Petunia is full of joy, loyalty, and charm. She’s looking for a home that will help her continue to thrive—and in return, she’ll give you endless love and a tail that never stops wagging.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Petunia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
