My story

Rooster is being fostered in Waukesha WI Rooster is a STUNNING standard blue merle Aussie boy.  He should weigh about 60 lbs.  This exhuberant boy was found as a stray in Huntley, IL by McHenry Animal Control.  He was brought in in February and weighed 30-something pounds.  He was malnourished and super skinny.  They nursed him to health so when we picked him up, he was still significantly underweight and lacked muscle structure.   He has been eating well and playing well in his foster home.  He has gained enough weight and some nice muscles, and with continued exercise, will continue to gain nice muscle structure.  We recommend a good nutritional diet for him to continue his path to a healthy lifestyle.  This boy enjoys playing with other dogs, but could also be an only dog.  Rooster has been learning so much in his foster home.  Potty and crate training have been a breeze.  He knows some basics, but could use an obedience class or two.  He rides well in the car and walks pretty well on leash too!  We recommend a home with no cats for Rooster. Children 10 and older would be ok.  We think he would be ok with younger kids, but could knock a smaller child over, so it depends on the child and the home.  This boy is SUPER sweet and loving with his humans and doesn't know a stranger!  He really really enjoys human attention.   Rooster is neutered, microchipped, negative for all tick born diseases, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm for any past or current pets must be provided to adopt from our rescue. If you are interested in making him a part of your family, please complete an adoption application on our website: https://midwestaustralianshepherdrescue.org/ NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2354702##
