My story

We hear that Princess had a hard time in the shelter. It seems like it must have been a bit of a shock for her, and we heard that she seemed upset, with lots of growling, and hissing. So we decided to foster her.Once we got her home, it took just a few hours in a quiet environment, and a calm presence, for her to start opening up. By the end of her first night with us, she was already exploring confidently - and even purring - though she requested no petting. And by the second day, she was purring when I entered the room, rubbing at my ankles, enjoying being petted on the head and back, and playing with toys. This bio was written after just two nights, and it seems like she is warming up very quickly. She is already very sweet, and we suspect that with a bit more patient love she will open up even more. Here are some of Princess’s perfect traits:She instantly purrs when you come into the room, which definitely melts your heart. She loves looking out the window, keeping an eye on the world. She is talkative, but with a small voice, which is cute, rather than annoying. She loves food, and always finishes her meals, but doesn’t seem too bossy about it.She is extremely treat-motivated. She doesn’t seem to love Churu squeezy treats, but really enjoys crunchy treats. She is moderately playful, and really seems to enjoy catnip toys and playing with a laser, but she doesn’t have manic kitten play behavior. She has a perfect record with her litter box, and she covers her waste without spilling or tracking litter everywhere. She seems confident - when let into a new room in our house, she spent half her time exploring the new space, and the other half the time coming back to me for pets, and to let me know that she was happy. Her name is Princess. This fact should tell you that she also has specific demands, here they are:She isn’t the kind of cat who will do whatever you want, you will do what she wants. She will politely tell you when you do something that she doesn’t like, but she expects quick obedience, otherwise she will tell you again less politely. She would probably do best in a home without children, or with older children who can understand her body language, and who will respect her polite requests. She needs daily brushing to keep her from getting matted. She doesn’t love getting brushed everywhere, so it will take some work to keep her

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Princess, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
