My story

Ginger KittyMy family and I moved to the USA not long ago. I lived with two other cats, and we were all surrendered to the HSHC on May 9 because they were expecting a new baby to arrive. I tried to explain that we could all live together, but that didn`t work. I am a 9-year-old DLH, orange and white tabby girl who is already spayed. When I arrived at the shelter, the medical staff found I had an infection in my mouth, which required the removal of several of my teeth. I now have only 4 teeth and may need to eat wet, canned food. In addition, they found my coat was terribly matted, I had dandruff and required the mats to be shaved. Adding fish oil to my food should improve my skin`s health. I need regular brushing to prevent mats from forming. My exam also revealed I had urinary crystals, which is a painful condition. The shelter started me on a diet designed to prevent the production of crystals. When the interviewer lady (IL) saw me, she said it was a shame I looked so poorly cared for, as I am a beautiful cat. I was asleep on my bed when she opened my door and woke me up. But I didn`t mind. I stretched out so she could give me pets all over. I especially enjoyed the chin rubs and ear scratches. We spent a nice little time together, and then I decided I was hungry and began to eat breakfast. I have plenty of life to share with someone who loves ginger kitties like me. The HSHC staff can advise you on introducing me to your home and help me adjust to the significant changes I`ll encounter there. I belong in a loving home, wouldn`t you agree? 5-21-25
