My story

Diesel Dan is a sweet, low-to-medium energy boy who’s as gentle as they come. This sweetheart loves human attention and affection, happily sitting calmly for pets, belly rubs, and gentle head scratches. He’s easy to handle and walks nicely on a leash with minimal pulling. While Diesel Dan isn’t super interested in toys or play, he’s a patient and loving companion who will follow his person around with soft eyes and a wagging tail. If you’re looking for a loyal, calm dog who just wants to be loved and cherished, Diesel Dan might be your fella! Come meet him at ACCT Philly any day of the week between 10 am and 6 pm BEHAVIOR 05/17/2025 volunteer notes: Diesel was a sweet playful boy and low to medium energy, generally easy on a leash and followed his handler around the enclosure. Probably best in a home without small children only due to his play style. 05/15/2025 staff notes: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Diesel was sitting at the front of his kennel with soft eyes and began wagging when I approached him. He had the cutest gentle face and was very patient as I leashed him up. He came right out once secured. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally HANDLING : In the room, Diesel was walking around, sniffing the toys and the benches. He came up to me slowly when called and was very laid back. He allowed all handling and sat his head down on my lap for some gentle head scratches. He likes his forehead pets some belly rubs. This gentle boy takes treats just the same and will sit patiently for them. He is a very patient and timid angel, seeking attention rather than play and toys. PLAY: No interest – looked at me and wagged TOYS: Sniffed curiously 05/14/2025 staff notes, playgroup: SM, interested, push/pull, semi-steer 05/12/2025 staff notes: Saw ACA and medical staff member interacting with this dog. Diesel was quite calm and was tolerant of their handling at that time.
