My story

Bart is a 4-year-old pit bull mix who was surrendered when his previous owner could no longer care for him due to health issues. He’s house trained, very social with people, and always ready to be part of the action. Bart has a playful, sometimes mouthy personality, so we recommend a home with kids 12 and up who can help keep interactions positive and respectful. He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, but he’s not a fan of rude or overly pushy playmates. He previously lived with a dog who didn’t respect his boundaries, so any potential dog friends should meet him first to make sure they’re a good fit. Bart will thrive with an active family who can give him plenty of exercise and attention. If you're ready to adopt now: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) You can also: Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet, to adopt sight unseen or to place a 24 hour hold on a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bart $99, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
