My story

Meet Fred – The Goofy Pup with Big Paws and an Even Bigger Personality Fred is a 7-month-old Shepherd mix with legs for days, a heart full of joy, and paws that promise he’s still got some growing to do. This silly, food-loving pup is all about the good life: Loves playing fetch Obsessed with belly rubs Great with respectful kids and other playful pups (he lives with 4 kids under 10 and has regular playdates with children as young as 3) Dog park regular and total social butterfly Crate-trained, potty trained, and sleeps soundly through the night Quick learner, especially when snacks are involved Fred loves his crate, which is his cozy safe space, and he settles in easily for bedtime or quiet time. He is fully housebroken and working hard on his manners. As a growing boy, he can be a little clumsy and may accidentally knock over small children when excited. While he is not overly cuddly, Fred is loyal, goofy, and happiest when he is near his people. After a good romp or fetch session, he is content to lounge in a sunny spot and relax. Fred’s ideal home includes: A playful dog buddy or regular dog park trips Kids to throw the ball and sneak him treats A yard or open space to stretch his legs No cats, as Fred prefers canine friends only Fred has all the makings of an amazing adult dog—funny, smart, and full of love. If you have tennis balls, belly rubs, and treats to spare, Fred may be the perfect match for you. Come meet him and see why he is such a lovable goofball. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fred, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
