My story

My name is Napoleon. I am a senior from a shelter in rural MN. A few words from his foster about Napoleon: Napoleon came to The Bond Between with a status of Hospice.  After testing and observation, we don't believe his status should be Hospice and he is now senior adoptable.   When it comes to dealing with fellow dogs, Napoleon is cantankerous and lives up to his name.  He needs to be the only dog in the house. When it comes to dealing with people, Napoleon is lovely.  He's an independent guy and often standoffish. Napoleon is advancing in age and enjoys soft dog beds and good naps.   He's a picky eater. He will bark when his foster mom comes home but is not a constant barker. He wears a belly band (male diaper) because sometimes he lifts his leg in the house. He enjoys spending time outside. Napoleon is looking for a quiet home where he can be king of the castle, is that with you?   From the Vet: Good news! We have a Hospice graduate on our hands! Sweet senior Napoleon is looking for a forever home after spending some months in a loving Hospice foster home. He has been quite stable for some time now, and recent bloodwork is showing good organ function. He had a dental during his time in rescue, but it had to be cut short due to some low blood pressure. He will need to have a second procedure to extract a few more teeth. TBB will agree to cover 1 dental w/ extractions + 1 tech appointment for pre-surgical blood work along with 1 post-op recheck appointment and 1 round of medications as deemed necessary by The BB Vet Team. We are monitoring a low thyroid hormone. There has been some debate that these values can lead to some cerebral abnormalities, however these are not effecting Napoleon's quality of life at this time. Much like any other senior he may need to be on anti-inflammatory pain relievers to help manage any pain or inflammation he may be experiencing. Overall for a senior he is stable and doing very well, so we hope his forever family is out there waiting!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Napoleon D17246, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
