My story

*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. *** Ambrosia was adopted from the CACC in Chicago appx 5 years ago and she was about 3-4 then. She was playing with this huge dog bigger than her having a great day and I just saw her and fell in love. Ambrosia comes from a previously abusive environment. When I adopted her it took a lot of trust. To pet her she needs to see your hand first and maybe let her come to you for the first few weeks. She doesn`t like walking through tight spaces or walkways/hallways that she cant see a straight path down. She doesn`t like things like brooms or anything blocking her path. She is house potty trained with a new home she may need some basic training again for new routine. She likes being outside, laying in the sun and she enjoys her alone time. She`s older so play time is not a long, long time with her compared to BabyBoy. She is extremely loving just remember she has come from an abusive past so yelling loud noises sometimes scare her especially fireworks. She does not like being left alone in a car for any long period of time like past 5-10 mins. She is ok with road trips for hours. She does not really get along with dogs that are smaller than her because of the sound of their bark. She gets along with most other dogs as long as she feels comfortable . Show her your hand and sit with her for a while and you will earn her love and respect very fast. She likes treats. Her teeth I`m working on getting cleaned. She does not like showers but she will deal with them. I take her to Pet`smart for nail grinding NOT cut. Her nails are clear and most groomers cut her too close to her blood vessels so just a normal grind and she may need to be muzzled for that part so please inform the groomer and inform them of the hand first before petting. She doesn`t like cats. She knows how to play and lick hands and not bite she does sometimes have to be told no biting and she will know to look for your hand to

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ambrosia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
