My story

Meet Luc !! This delightful and adorable boxer is looking for a forever home of his own. He is so fun and well behaved. Very energetic and needs an active family to contend with all the energy he has. He is an 11 month old, male boxer. He weighs 44 pounds. He will be neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of his adoption. He is heartworm negative and on preventatives. Luc has been very loved and well cared for his whole life. He was owned by a woman that did a great job with him however his energy level and strength were just too much for her age. She decided to find a home for him that was able to give him all that he needed. He has done great with other dogs and absolutely loves to play. He can be a little much for some dogs as he is still learning how to tone himself down for small dogs or less energetic dogs. Nothing aggressive at all he is just a really excited and energetic teenager. He has never been around cats so we are unsure how he would do. He has done really well with kids. He has done some excited jumping up on kids and people but he is not terrible about it. Usually it’s only when he is really really excited or meets you for the first time. Luc does very well with his house manners. He has not had any potty accidents even when transitioning to the new routine. He does fantastic on car rides and will sit or lay on the seat without bothering the driver. He is crate trained but will destroy beds if left in his crate with them. He can be very strong on the leash at times but overall is not too bad. The more exercise he gets before going out on the leash the better he is about not pulling. He has not had any aggression with food, treats, or toys with people or other animals. He is all about running around and living his best life. He is a very happy, goofy guy. He loves to play with toys, play tug and he likes fetch but will sometimes pretend to bring it back only to run away with it when you get close to taking it. We can see the “SIKE” in his eyes when he does it LOL. Luc is a very typical boxer. He is very energetic and has a high energy level. He needs a ton of play time each day and then he is super calm and cuddly afterward. He does have that chill side but only after he has been given an outlet for his energy. He will need both physical and mental exercise. If you can not provide that to him every single day, rain or shine, then please do not adopt him. He will not be happy and you will see behavior issues due to pent up energy. He is both very smart and also a bit stubborn. Boxers are generally like this for life. They are wonderful dogs but please research the breed before applying. Luc is a really good boy. A very happy, high on life kinda guy. If you are an active and energetic family then he would love to be your new best friend. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message us directly at VillageDogResource@gmail.com with questions or to get an application.‼️

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Luc, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
