Butterscotch

My story

Butterscotch is a sweet girl who came to ACA from northern Ontario. She has the silkiest fur and true to her name, she glows a warm golden color in the sunlight and brings just as much warmth to the home. Butterscotch is a very friendly sweet girl who happily approaches everyone for pats. She’ll let you know it’s time for attention with gentle meows or by pacing in front of you until you give in to her charm. Butterscotch gets along wonderfully with other cats, both in her previous shelter days and now with Charlotte and Phoenix in her foster home. While she often prefers to watch Phoenix’s wand toy antics from the sidelines, she’s quick to join in when the moment is right—especially if bell balls or string toys are involved. Butterscotch is an excellent jumper, often showing off her acrobatics during playtime by leaping to the top of the scratching post and balancing there like a featherweight gymnast. When she’s not playing or exploring, Butterscotch enjoys quiet moments of rest—often near the other cats, or in her own chair. She’s been known to hop up onto a lap for a short cuddle, but she’s easily tempted away by sounds to investigate or the chance for more play. She’s curious and clever, often checking out kitchen counters or desktops, but she’s polite about being redirected. This lovely girl uses the litter box reliably, stays well hydrated, and eats well—although she’s a bit of a gentle soul at mealtime and sometimes needs a little encouragement to make sure she gets her fair share. Butterscotch would love to be adopted with her new friend Phoenix or into a home that already has a cat who needs a friend. While she has only interacted with teenage children in the foster home, we suspect Butterscotch would interact well with other pets and younger respectful children.
