My story

Meet Sock Monkey! Sock Monkey was found in a trash can and taken to Inland Valley Humane Society S.P.C.A. Because of her emaciated, frail condition, the shelter deemed her "rescue only", and she became a Frosted Face on May 10th. Sock Monkey is estimated to be 12 years old and is very underweight at only 4 lbs. Thankfully, Sock Monkey is currently receiving extra TLC in the home of a very experienced Frosted Faces foster family. Her Foster Mom shared this update: "Monkey is such a sweet girl. It’s heartbreaking that someone would just throw her away. We are learning more about her everyday and see more of her spirit come out as well. Since Monkey is so emaciated, everything takes a lot out of her. Our main focus right now is trying to get her to gain weight, so she probably wont go on many adventures for a while. She eats less after anything out of her routine (Mother’s Day adventures, baths, etc.) So far, we have learned that… 🩷 She is a good eater. She loves the wet food we have. I am feeding her 5 small meals a day. 🩷 She doesn’t mind being carried around and enjoys being pet. 🩷 At night, we are keeping her in a pen in our bedroom with pee pads. When she woke up last night, she did her business, and then went back to sleep. This little lady has so much life in her. When you look at her frail body, you expect her to be checked out but she is a brave little fighter! She loves cruising around our backyard and watches everyone." Check back for an update on how sweet Monkey is doing!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sock Monkey, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
