My story

RESCUE ONLY DEADLINE5PM Wednesday 5/14/25 Name: LaylaAnimal ID: A726437Age: 5 yearsWeight: 93 lbsAbout: Meet Layla, a mature and deeply affectionate gal ready to shower her human companions with love. This sweet senior first arrived at PACC as a stray and, while initially timid and unsure on leash, blossomed over five years in her adoptive home. There, she transformed into a devoted companion who loved being by her owner`s side and even did well with children. She`s reportedly housebroken and has become a gem on leash!Unfortunately, Layla is back at PACC after a tragic incident where she fatally injured two small dogs in her previous home. At the shelter, Layla tends to keep to herself around other dogs and can be uneasy with approaching dogs. Therefore, she`ll need to meet any potential dog siblings and cannot go to a home with small dogs.Layla is patiently waiting for a loving forever home where she can reign as queen and flourish under the doting affection of her humans. Could that special place be yours? If you think Layla might be a good fit for your home you MUST come down to the shelter to meet Layla by 5pm on Wednesday 5/14/25. Adoption Process: Layla must find placement through a partnered rescue group. All interested parties must meet Layla at PACC before her deadline. Once an interested party has met and decided Layla may be a good fit the process is as follows: Interested parties: •Must visit PACC before the 5 pm May 14th, 2025, deadline to meet with an adoption counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit. •Once you have come to pacc to meet with Layla your information will be sent to partnered rescue groups.•Are encouraged to reach out to a rescue group ASAP (even before coming to PACC), to start the rescue approval process. Have the rescue contact PACC at PACC.UrgentDogs@pima.gov if approved to pull. •If a rescue group is interested and feels they may be able to pull Layla they will then reach out to IP’sCollaboration with Rescue Groups:•Rescue groups are encouraged to reach out to PACC early if they are able to pull this animal into their rescue (and what requirements they would have: interested adoptive party, alteration etc.)•If an IP has not already contacted a rescue, PACC will notify all partnered rescue groups of an interested party and request their assistance. •Rescue groups are encouraged to s

If you have any questions or would like to adopt LAYLA, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
