My story

Marnie went to a loving foster home several weeks ago as we needed to closely monitor her health and diet. Marnie is now ready to be adopted so her foster mom sent several adorable pictures along with a synopsis of Marnie’s world in foster: ‘Marnie took 2 full weeks to settle in. She is not a fan of being picked up but enjoys pets, napping in sunshine, lying beside you during the day and sleeping at your feet overnight. Marnie's favorite toys are laser light and shoelaces. She uses a water fountain and drinks a lot of water. She will need a high-sides litter box. Scratchers are used several times a day. Marnie has a hearing deficiency but doesn’t appear to be deaf. She doesn't alert at loud noises, doorbell or vacuum but you can get her attention by touch or a loud clap of your hands. Marnie does not jump to counters or tables but if there is a chair to use, you could find her there. Marnie loves sleeping in sunshine. She loves to play Hide & Seek with treats. Marnie will go where you go as you walk your house. She will walk very close to your feet. Remember she can't hear your steps or voice. If she is a bit ahead of you, she will turn around to see where you are so be aware and careful. Marnie will fall into a routine very easily and seems to like it. Examples: I open the front door first thing in the morning to let cool air in. Marnie walks to the front door every morning waiting for it to open. Marnie knows what time you normally wake up. She will loud meow if you are late. ‘ Additional things to know about Marnie. She’s a senior cat (December 2014 birthdate) who has some issues related to her age and prior life (she was abandoned at our shelter). Her forever home should be quiet, with no other cats or dogs. But this girl with the most amazing whiskers EVER deserves, for the rest of her life, to be cared for in a home that recognizes how special she is, and who will give her the love, and the care, she needs. Marnie’s adoption fee of $50 includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FELV, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To meet Marnie, call Home Fur Good at 602.971.1334 in order to arrange an appointment to meet Marnie at her foster home.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marnie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
