My story

Adorable and full of energy, Ferus is unstoppable! Ferus is estimated to be about 2-3 months old and is a bundle of fun, who is eager to meet his forever family! He is in the stage of puppyhood where he plays hard and sleeps hard, and would thrive with a family dedicated to working on all of his basic manners training with him. Ferus weighs a little over 3lbs now, and we estimated he will be under 20bs when fully grown. Ferus came to us from a local shelter after he and his brother were found as strays. An owner never came forward, so we quickly scooped them up and placed them in YCSPCA foster homes. These boys are looking for individual homes where they can get the one-on-one attention they need. Ferus means "wild" in Latin, and he sure is a wild little boy. He is equal parts sweet and mischievous, and there is never a dull moment when he is around. Despite his small size, he is a man on the move and would love to go on lots of adventures once he is fully vaccinated. He is also quite the cuddle bug and wants to be wherever his foster mom is for snuggles. He is still learning all of his basic skills, and his new family will need to be committed to continuing his training and socialization. He would be a great candidate for group puppy classes. Ferus has done great with the dogs he has met, although he is still learning how to be brave with bigger dogs. He would love to have another playful small/medium-size dog in his new home, but also could do well as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with other pups. Ferus hasn't been around cats, but we think he would do fine living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Due to his size, Ferus would do best with kids 10 years and older. Ferus is still very much working on his house and crate training, and his new family will need to be patient with him while he is learning and be consistent about taking him outside. He hasn't spent very much time alone, so he would do best with a family who can slowly acclimate him to being home alone. Ferus is such a great little guy, and we can't wait for him to start his life with his new family. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Ferus's adoption fee is $400.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. May 8, 2025, 5:23 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ferus, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
