My story

Handsome, smart, and oh-so sweet, Koda is the complete package! Koda is estimated to be about 6 months old, and he is so excited to find his fur-ever home! He is the perfect mix of affectionate and adventurous and would make an awesome walking/hiking buddy for someone who also wants a pup to cuddle with. He can be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he'll never want to leave your side. Koda currently weighs about 28lbs, and we guess that he will be around 50-60lbs when fully grown. Koda came to us from a partner rescue, BONES Pet Rescue. They are located in a rural area full of stray and feral dogs. The rescue owner was driving on a country road and saw a pack of dogs surrounding a little puppy. She quickly scared off the dogs and rescued the puppy, Koda. He was skinny and covered in fleas, and the rescue got him nice and healthy. He's now in a YCSPCA foster home and thriving! Koda is such a fun guy, and he has been such a pleasure to get to know. He's goofy, loving, and a little sassy when he feels left out of some fun. He has been learning all of his basic manners and doing great. He is gaining confidence on leash and being out and about, and would love a family who can continue to help him learn and feel brave. He would be a wonderful addition to an active family that can ensure he gets lots of daily exercise and enrichment. Koda loves other dogs and quickly became BFFs with the other puppy in his foster home. We think he would do best in a home with another playful dog so he has a mentor and playmate. Koda has done well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction and proper supervision. Koda has done well living with older kids and could make a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Koda has been doing very well with his housetraining, but his new family should expect some accidents while he is adjusting to a new routine and environment. Koda has been doing great with his crate training and is happy to sleep in there overnight and hang out in there for a few hours during the day. Koda is such an awesome little dude, and he can't wait to start the rest of his life with his new family! If you think that could be you, submit an adoption application today!   Koda's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to his or her age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. May 8, 2025, 4:39 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Koda, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
