My story

Meet Buttons, a sweet 4-year-old chocolate brown pug mix weighing 17 pounds, who is looking for a calm and loving forever home. Buttons is currently thriving in a foster environment with professional dog trainers, helping her build confidence and good leash manners every day.  Buttons is a shy girl at first but reveals her spunky and quirky personality once she feels safe and trusts her surroundings. She gets along wonderfully with other mellow dogs and cats, making her a great companion for a home with calm pets.  The ideal home for Buttons would be a quiet, mature household with a predictable routine, where adults are patient and understanding of her need for time to adjust. Because unfamiliar noises can make her uneasy, a peaceful community and an adult-only home are recommended.  Buttons prefers not to be picked up and benefits from gentle guidance on the leash initially. Once comfortable, she responds well to voice commands and will happily follow her person. She loves having her own safe space-her crate and a private room where she can observe the world from her comfort zone.  If you have a calm lifestyle and a loving heart ready to give Buttons the time and space she needs, she could be the perfect addition to your family.
