My story

Charlie is a soft, shy gentleman who just wants a quiet place to call home. At 5 years old, this grey-and-white guy is as gentle as they come. He’s front paw declawed, which may contribute to his sensitivity, but once he’s comfortable, he absolutely adores attention—often bumping his head into your hand to ask for more pets. Charlie is shy in new environments and tends to retreat to a safe hiding spot until he feels secure. But with a slow, calm introduction and a quiet place to decompress, he’ll gradually come out of his shell. He previously lived with children of multiple ages and did well after warming up. He hasn’t lived with other animals, and his former family noted he’d likely prefer to be the only cat. To help Charlie settle in, we recommend starting him in a small, quiet space and gradually introducing him to the rest of the home once he’s feeling safe. We’ll provide helpful tips in his adoption folder for caring for declawed cats and making him feel right at home. If you’re patient, kind, and looking for a low-key companion who will reward your love with head bumps and quiet loyalty, Charlie might just be your guy.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Charlie , please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
